Custom Cabinets
What's the process for getting an estimate for custom cabinets?
Call or contact us online to request a quote. Please include a set of house plans or rough measurements of the walls. We recommend calling ahead to make an appointment: (530) 365-8108 or email info@mandinascabinets.com.
Can I get a set of drawings or a layout with my estimate?
If you need detailed drawings with sizes and dimensions, you'll be asked to pay a 10% design deposit, which is credited toward the purchase of your custom cabinets.
What are your payment terms for custom cabinets?
Terms on most projects are 50% down, 50% upon completion. Alternatively, you can pay a 10% design deposit in advance (applicable to purchase), a 40% product deposit in advance, and the balance at time of delivery and/or installation. There are no returns on custom cabinets or special orders, and deposits are non-refundable. We accept most major credit cards with a 3% fee. Checks or bank account ACH are best.
Who installs my cabinets and how long will it take?
We do! We never sub-contract installation. We install all of our own cabinets to be sure it gets done right. The average kitchen installation takes 1–3 days and we always clean up after ourselves daily.
Is installation included in the price?
Yes. On your invoice you'll see installation as a separate line item because installation labor is non-taxable — but it's included in the scope of the project.
Will I need knobs or pulls, and are they included?
Yes, you'll need knobs and/or pulls — and no, they are not included in the price. Prices vary too much to quote accurately. Installation of hardware is part of our typical process, though we reserve the right to charge extra for hardware purchased elsewhere.
When is my balance due after installation?
After installation is complete and you're satisfied, your balance is due upon receipt of invoice — typically the same day. Prompt payment is very appreciated.
Why should I choose frameless over face-frame cabinets?
Face-frame cabinets reduce usable interior space by blocking the front opening. Frameless (full-access) construction maximizes space within the same footprint, improves drawer access, and produces a cleaner look. The door opening is 22.8% larger and drawer interior 51.8% larger than a comparable face-frame cabinet.
Are the materials safe for my family and the environment?
Yes. All man-made wood products we use are certified CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliant. We also offer materials with No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF). Exposed edges are edge-banded to seal in any materials and minimize off-gassing.
Do you offer a warranty or maintenance after installation?
Yes — we offer a free tune-up at 1 year and again at 5 years after purchase for all custom residential kitchen installations. We adjust doors, drawers, roll-outs, and shelves. We're confident we build the best cabinets, but sometimes minor adjustments improve things over time.
